Early Intervention & Developmental Disabilities

The first three years of life are a period of incredible growth in all areas of a baby’s development making early intervention services critical for a child with developmental disabilities. A newborn’s brain is about 25 percent of its approximate adult weight and by age 5 they have developed 85 percent of their intellect, personality and skills. The first months and years of life set the stage for lifelong development.

At Harwood Center, we recognize the need for early intervention and the importance it has on the development of children. Our small class sizes allow for individualized educational programming and our structured one on one behavior therapy are available to maximize brain development during these critical years. Harwood’s Early Intervention classrooms are designed for children age 18 months to 6 years old. Applied Behavior Analysis therapy is also available to children 18 months and older.

Hugs, hope, and help. We are here to help you.
