Harwood Dash for DisABILITY 5K
The eighth annual 5K fundraiser for Harwood Center has changed its name to the Harwood Dash for DisABILITY 5K. We’re very excited about the rebrand because although the name has changed, the mission will remain the same. Formerly known as Opening Eyes to Autism 5K, the new name better reflects the mission and purpose of Harwood Center – to serve children with all developmental disabilities in the Mid-South, providing education, therapy and support for the children and their families. The Harwood Dash for DisABILITY 5K will be held Friday, March 24, 2017, in the Cooper-Young District in honor of National Disability Awareness Month. Show your support of Harwood, and advocate for kids with special needs by participating in the Harwood Dash for DisABILITY 5K! Register online today at https://

59th Annual Memphis Handicappers Golf Tournament
Please join us May 11, 2018 at Mirimichi Golf Course for a Memphis classic!
As the oldest charity golf tournament in Memphis, the Memphis Handicappers Golf Tournament began with the idea that a golfer with an average handicap could help children with special needs. In 1959, a group of prominent Memphis businessmen and golfers turned their love of the game into a way to raise funds to support the children of Harwood Center. Spearheaded by Sam Cooper, Richard Harwood, Mark Vorder-Bruegge, Don Drinkard, Richard Block and Herbert Lichterman, the event has grown over the years just at as Harwood Center has grown to touch the lives of more and more children each year. Even though times have changed, the ritual and spirit of the Memphis Handicappers Golf Tournament will always remain a classic.
