Harwood Center, a non-profit agency, has a diverse funding base which includes United Way of the Mid-South, The University of Tennessee Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities, Les Passees, The Memphis Jewish Community Center, foundation grants, corporate gifts, special events, individual donations and investments.

In fiscal year 2009 sources of funding were;
Private - 46%
Government - 54%

Funding in fiscal year 2009 was allocated as follows:
Programs - 85%
Administration - 9%
Fundraising - 6%
